Functions
The Quality Assurance Unit is an internal structure that oversees the implementation of Quality Assurance (QA) procedures at the level of the University, Courses of Study (CdS), and Departments, in accordance with the guidelines devised by the governing bodies within the Quality Policies for teaching, research, and third mission, as well as in the University Strategic Plan. The QA Unit:
- promotes a culture of quality within the University
- organizes and coordinates the performance of QA processes within the University, providing the necessary operational instructions as well as, when needed, relevant data and information
- verifies the application of structured processes by the actors in the QA system and evaluates their effectiveness
- plans and organizes training activities in the QA field aimed at both spreading a culture of quality and encouraging the responsible involvement of all actors in the system, as well as providing support for the proper and consistent implementation of QA processes
- ensures the correct flow of information among all actors involved in the University’s QA system
- reports periodically to the Governing Bodies on the status of QA-related actions, highlighting improvements achieved, ongoing critical issues, and planned actions
The Quality Assurance Unit prepares an annual report outlining the activities carried out, the results achieved, the ongoing critical issues, and the activities planned for the following year. The report is approved by March 31 of each year and is sent to the governing bodies and the Evaluation Unit.
Composition
The University Quality Control Committee, established by resolutions of the Academic Council and the Board of Administration on March 4, 2013, consists of 5 to 7 members selected from university staff who possess specific skills related to Quality Assurance. The Head and the members are appointed by rectoral decree, serve a three-year term, and may be reappointed consecutively only once.
