What needs to be done to activate a mobility?

Students assigned an incoming mobility for study purposes within the framework of existing international collaborations must be designated by their home University via email to erasmus@unistrapg.it(so-called "nomination")

The nomination must:

  1. be sent by the competent office of the sending institution;
  2. include the following information:
  • student's first and last name
  • student's date and place of birth
  • student's institutional email contact
  • intended mobility period

After receiving this designation, the Erasmus and International Mobility office will:

  • verify the feasibility of the mobility program;
  • send the student an email with all the necessary information for the subsequent "application" procedure

To submit your application, you must send the following by e-mail, in .pdf format, to erasmus@unistrapg.it:

  1. The Application Form, which you must fill out, print, and sign;
  2. The Learning Agreement, which you must complete, print, sign personally, and have signed and stamped by your University;
  3. A copy of your identity document;
  4. A copy of a health insurance policy with an appropriate coverage limit valid for the entire mobility period, which you must attach as a copy.

In addition to the above-mentioned documents, you must fill in theonline application for the regular Italian language and culture courses, which you can attend free of charge as an "exchange" student.

Once the above-mentioned documentation has been received, the staff of the Erasmus and International Mobility Service of the University for Foreigners of Perugia will carry out the necessary checks and, if successful, will issue the mobility acceptance letter.

Students who have successfully completed the application procedure will receive:

  • approval of the Learning Agreement;
  • the certificate of enrollment in the ordinary Italian language and culture courses (issued by the relevant office);
  • an email communication from the Language Course Secretariat staff containing the institutional credentials to be used during the mobility period (student ID number, institutional email address, username, and password).

Upon receiving the enrollment certificate, it will be your responsibility to check the requirements related to your residence permit in Italy.

Mobility tutors support Erasmus students in choosing and managing their academic path, both before and during their mobility period. If needed, Erasmus students can contact their assigned tutor directly using the institutional email address found in the following list.

Management of the mobility period

Mobility begins on the date you personally register your arrival at the University for Foreigners of Perugia by signing the arrival register and registering with the Erasmus and International Mobility Service (Palazzo Gallenga, first floor).

The date on which you sign the register marks the start date of your mobility, which usually coincides with the beginning of the academic semester (see the section on the academic calendar).

If it becomes necessary to make changes to the Learning Agreement, it will be possible to propose the required changes, previously agreed upon with the mobility coordinator of your home university, within and no later than 30 days from the start date of the mobility.

In this case, you must complete, sign, and send via email to erasmus@unistrapg.it the document entitled "learning agreement during the mobility", which must first be signed by:

  1. you;
  2. the mobility coordinator of your home university.

If approved, the Learning Agreement will be signed by the coordinator of the University for Foreigners of Perugia and sent to you via email.

Learning Agreement "during the mobility"

The end date of the mobility period must be communicated to the staff of the Erasmus and International Mobility Service (erasmus@unistrapg.it) at least one week before departure, in order to allow - where possible - the preparation of the final documentation, which will include:

  • certificate of mobility;
  • Transcript of Records.

PLEASE NOTE: The end date of the mobility must coincide with one of the following:

  • the date of the last recorded exam;
  • the date of the last class attended;
  • the date of the last visit to the Erasmus and International Mobility Service

    - n.surname@studenti.unistrapg.it;
    - Password

The tax code is a 16-character alphanumeric code issued by the Revenue Agency to identify individuals and other entities. This is done in dealings with public administrations, bodies, and private entities in Italy. It is necessary for taxes, healthcare, and contracts.

To obtain the tax code, you must submit a request to the Erasmus and International Mobility Service staff, using the following form, which must be completed by the applicant in the following sections:

L'Erasmus+ Experience di Gabriele

Gabriele enthusiastically shares his positive experience in the Erasmus+ program at the University for Foreigners of Perugia, which he initially chose out of curiosity, having never heard of it before. He highlights the excellent academic quality, noting the competence and helpfulness of the professors and coordinators, as well as the variety of courses offered, including the opportunity to learn Italian for free. From a social perspective, he recommends Perugia for its vibrant Erasmus student network (ESN), which organizes daily events, making it easy to meet new friends and explore the culture. Finally, Gabriele recommends Perugia as an excellent base for traveling in Italy and, in summary, his only regret is knowing he has to leave soon and fearing that future exchange experiences might not live up to the high standards set in Perugia.
