Erasmus+ is the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport in Europe.
The name Erasmus is the acronym for EuRopean Community Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students.
What does it mean to take part in Erasmus+ today?
Participating in the Erasmus+ Programme means enjoying a limitless opportunity. Erasmus+ stands for participation, personal growth and a tangible experience of European mobility.
The Programme is synonymous with inclusivity and high-quality education, but also teaching opportunities and experiences of work or volunteering.
Erasmus+ is for all ages, for active participation in democratic society, a true intercultural understanding, also thanks to language learning, and openness and evolution towards the world of work. Erasmus+ helps to foster empathy.
Erasmus+ stands for a great life experience, personal growth, and open-mindedness (hence its motto: Enriching lives, opening minds). Erasmus+ offers opportunities for mobility and cooperation among people and various countries for projects aimed at:
- School education, including early childhood education and care. This includes projects in the field of school education, such as school principals, teachers, and school staff. It also encompasses students of all levels of school education, from preschool to primary and secondary school.
- Vocational education and training, for apprentices and students attending vocational institutions, professionals and staff involved in vocational training, initial vocational training organization personnel, trainers, and professionals in companies.
- Higher education, including students of the three cycles of study (bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and doctorate, or equivalents), as well as teachers, staff of higher education institutions, trainers, and professionals in companies.
- Youth, aged 13 to 30, in addition to youth workers, organizations active in the youth sector, associations, local entities, NGOs, and informal groups of young people.
- Adult education, meaning members of adult education organizations, trainers, adult education staff, and adult learners.
- Sports, for professionals and volunteers in the sector, including athletes and coaches. The 2021-2027 program places strong emphasis on social inclusion, the green and digital transition, and promoting youth participation in democratic life.
The program consists of 3 actions:
- Key Action 1: individual mobility for learning
- Key Action 2: cooperation for innovation and good practices
- Key Action 3: support for policy reform
The Erasmus Policy Statement (EPS) is an integral part of the internationalization strategy pursued by the University and a required document for obtaining the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education.
