Course Catalogue

This Academic Guidance document sets out all the procedures for enrolling in and registering for Degree Programmes and Master's Degree Programmes. Students are required to read it carefully.

This Academic Guidance does not include the educational offer relating to doctoral programmes, master's programmes or advanced training courses, for which reference should be made to the relevant Calls for Applications.

In this document, the terms “student”, “students”, “lecturer” and “researcher”, where used, are to be interpreted as gender neutral, referring to both male and female individuals.

Master's Degree Programmes

The following are offered in the academic year 2026-2027: 

• 1st and 2nd year of the Master's Degree Programme in Advertising Communication, Storytelling and Visual Culture (ComPSI). Class LM-92 (Communication Theories). Esse3 Code: LM01R 
• 1st and 2nd year of the joint Master's Degree Programme in International Relations and Development Cooperation (RICS). Class LM-52 (International Relations) and LM-81 (Development Cooperation Sciences). Esse3 Code: LM02R 
• 1st and 2nd year of the Master's Degree Programme in Italian for Teaching to Foreigners (ItaS): Linguistic track (ItaS-L) and Cultural-Identity track (ItaS-C). Class LM-14 (Modern Philology). Esse3 Code: LM03R
• 1st and 2nd year of the inter-university Master's Degree Programme in Management and Italian Food Culture (Class LM-76) delivered jointly by the University of Perugia and the Università per Stranieri di Perugia. The University Educational Credits (CFU) for elective educational activities may be obtained by:

• passing exams offered in other degree programmes/master’s degree programmes at the same level at the University
• passing exams that are part of a different curriculum from the one selected
• passing exams that are part of a different curriculum from the one selected
• taking part in alternative activities, including seminars or laboratory activities, for which the Departments award educational credits (CFU)
• requesting accreditation of previous educational activities, subject to the criteria and procedures set out in the Guidelines for CFU Recognition and following the procedures outlined on the "CFU Recognition" page of this website.

It is not permitted to include:

• individual modules that are part of an integrated exam
• courses considered not to be consistent with the content and learning objectives of the student’s chosen programme
• courses that clearly repeat an educational activity already included in the study plan

The chosen courses must be included when submitting the online study plan via your personal Esse3 web area, from 1 August 2026 and no later than 28 February 2027.

The selection made may be changed at the start of the following academic year.

Admission Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree Programmes (First Cycle)

• possession of an upper secondary school diploma or another qualification obtained abroad recognised as valid
• possession of an adequate academic background, to be assessed according to the procedures defined in the Degree Programme Regulations

Master’s Degree Programmes (Second Cycle)

• possession of a Bachelor’s Degree or three-year university diploma or another qualification obtained abroad recognised as valid
• possession of a sufficient number of ECTS credits in specified subject areas (SSD), whose evaluation must be requested in advance from the Student Administration Office, by submitting a copy of the awarded qualification with a list of completed examinations
• possession of an adequate academic background to be assessed according to the procedures defined in the Degree Programme Regulations

Enrolment Procedures

Enrolment in the degree programmes is carried out exclusively online by accessing the Esse3web reserved area.

The data provided will be processed for the University’s institutional purposes and may be used for employment-related purposes, as specified in the information notice on the processing of personal data.

Upon completion of enrolment, students must print and sign the enrolment application form, submit it to the Student Administration Office, and pay university fees exclusively via the Pago PA system.

Documents to be Submitted to the Student Administration Office

• enrolment application form
• a passport-sized photograph
• a copy of a valid identity document (Passport for international students)
• documentation for any exemption from tuition fees (see Part II of this Academic Guide)
• qualification obtained abroad (declaration of value)
• copy of a valid residence permit for non-EU students resident in Italy, or Decree granting international protection status along with the application for a residence permit

The documentation may also be sent by registered mail, by certified email to protocollo@pec.unistrapg.it, or submitted by an authorised representative.

Regulated by provisions of the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR) published on the website www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri/

Students must access the UNIVERSITALY portal in the “International students” section, click on “Register now” and:

• complete the “pre-enrolment application”
• select only one degree programme from those listed in the active database within the pre-enrolment application

The subsequent pre-enrolment steps will be completed at the competent Italian Diplomatic or Consular offices in the country of last residence, in order to obtain the relevant visa.

Enrolment is considered finalised after:

• verification of the authenticity of the documents submitted and fulfilment of the required entry criteria
• completion of entrance tests/interviews
• payment of the university tuition fee

For non-EU students residing abroad, an online Italian language proficiency test at B2 level (CEFR) is mandatory. Students who have obtained Italian language proficiency certificates corresponding to C1 or C2 levels of the Council of Europe, issued within the CLIQ (Certificazione Lingua Italiana di Qualità) system—including those in agreement with Italian Cultural Institutes abroad or other accredited bodies—may be exempted.

Through the University's online service Esse3web.

Documents to be submitted to the Student Administration Office

• documentation proving eligibility for possible exemption from tuition fees (see part II of this Degree Programme Prospectus)
• for non-EU students, a copy of a valid residence permit

For information on student contributions (amounts, deadlines, exemptions, etc.), please refer to the second part of the Degree Programme Prospectus.

For the types of single courses offered, the fees and payment methods for enrolment are specified in the second part of the Academic Regulations.

Applications will be accepted only if the applicant possesses the educational requirements necessary for admission to the University. Enrolment in individual modules of integrated courses or sitting partial exams is not permitted. The allocation of courses across the two semesters can be consulted in the timetable published on this website.

Enrolment in individual courses must be completed online via the Esse3web platform. Students must then notify the Student Administration Office of the chosen exams and submit the following to the same Office:

1. the completed form, available for download from the “forms” section of this website
2. a copy of a valid identity document
3. for non-EU citizens, regardless of residency, a copy of a valid residence permit or decree granting international protection status together with the application for a residence permit

Students are required to pay the enrolment fee for the courses they wish to attend via the PagoPA system (see the second part of the Academic Regulations).

Enrolment in single courses by non-EU foreign nationals residing abroad is governed by specific provisions of the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR) available at: www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri/

It may be requested within the same programme, provided it is active, within the first year of enrolment in the master’s degree programme and within the second year of enrolment in the bachelor’s degree programme.

It may be requested only once and within the first year of enrolment using the form available on the "forms" page, after payment of the relevant university fees (see the second part of the Academic Regulations) and in accordance with the rules governing the chosen degree programme.

The following documents must be provided:

• application for transfer to another Degree Programme
• request for recognition of examinations, if already taken in the previous programme, which the student will submit for approval by the relevant University bodies

Transfer to another programme is not permitted in the following cases:

• students enrolled in years beyond the first year of a Master’s Degree Programme
• students enrolled in years beyond the second year of a Bachelor’s Degree Programme
• students who are beyond the standard duration of the programme

By 31 October 2026.

Students must be up to date with the payment of fees for the previous academic year and submit an application (using the form available on the “forms” page of this website).

For procedures and the amount to be paid in case of transfer, please refer to the second part of the Academic Regulations.

Once the transfer application has been submitted, students will not be able to take any examinations. The conclusion of the administrative transfer process will be communicated in writing to the student concerned and, for information purposes, to the receiving University. 

Students are required to visit the Student Administration Office of the receiving University in advance to check the possibility of transfer. 

Transferred students may not return to the University for Foreigners until one year has passed from the date of application, except in cases of particular severity, which will be assessed by the relevant University bodies.

These are only possible during the period 1 August 2026 - 28 February 2027.

The student must first go to the Student Administration Office of their home University to request clearance; the application will only be finalised after checks have been carried out by the Degree Programme Administration Office of this University. Any application for recognition of exams will be assessed by the relevant bodies.

Interruption occurs when a student does not renew their enrolment for at least one academic year, while suspension is a formal request made by the student in the following cases:

• participation in national civil service during the same academic year 
• serious personal or family reasons, which will be assessed by the relevant University offices 

Suspension may be granted only once and for a period not exceeding the number of years remaining to complete the standard duration of the degree programme. It is not permitted in the following cases: 

• enrolment in degree programmes that are being discontinued 
• students exceeding the standard duration of the programme (“fuori corso”) 
• international students holding a residence permit for study purposes 
• periods of less than one academic year 

In the event of interruption or suspension, the student cannot undertake any academic career activities. To resume studies, a specific application must be submitted (using the form available on the “Forms” page of this website), which will be assessed by the Student Administration Office for degree programmes. Reinstatement is subject to the payment of a fee (see the second part of the Student Handbook). 

It is not possible to reinstate academic records for degree programmes that are no longer active, except if the student only owes the final degree examination (see art. 5.3), or for degree programmes that are no longer active but whose course units are still offered by the University.

The student may withdraw from their studies at any time by submitting a Withdrawal from Studies application (using the form available on the “forms” page of this website).

No further academic actions will be possible and any fees already paid will not be refunded.

For degree programmes established prior to the university reform set out in Ministerial Decree 509/1999, a student loses their university student status if, despite being regularly enrolled as an out-of-course student, they have not successfully passed any exams for eight consecutive years.

For degree programmes established under Ministerial Decrees 509/1999 and 270/2004, a student loses their university student status if they have not passed any exam for a period of years equal to twice the official duration of the degree programme.

Students also lose their student status if university tuition fees remain unpaid for more than three consecutive academic years. This provision does not apply to those who have passed all the exams required by their degree programme and owe only the final degree examination.

In the year that the thesis is discussed, students must have paid the enrolment fee; in addition, if there are outstanding payments from previous years, the prescribed reinstatement fee must also be paid.

Thesis Regulations

By the deadlines specified for each thesis session (no extensions are permitted), students must submit their online thesis discussion application by accessing Esse3Web. Regarding the relevant fee, please refer to the second part of the Study Guide.

At the time of submitting the thesis application, students must have paid all required fees and charges.

The thesis discussion application is provisionally accepted by the Student Administration Office, which will verify compliance with the set criteria.

Prior to the degree session date, students must have obtained all ECTS credits (CFU) required by the study plan of their Degree Programme.

Each student is responsible for periodically checking the ECTS credits (CFU) acquired. If, upon verification by the Degree Programme Student Administration Office, any credits are found to be missing, the student will not be allowed to present their thesis.

If the thesis discussion is postponed to sessions in subsequent academic years, the student must submit a new thesis discussion application and pay an additional fee (see the second part of the Study Guide).

Any changes decided by university governing bodies will be communicated on this website.

The final degree certificate in paper format (parchment) will be issued after the thesis defence date.

In case of loss, destruction, or theft of the original diploma, a duplicate will be issued to the holder upon request, subject to the submission of a self-certification attesting to the loss/destruction/theft/deterioration of the parchment and payment of a fee (see the second part of the Programme Catalogue).

The new document will include a statement declaring that it is a duplicate of the original diploma. If the replacement is due to deterioration of the original certificate, the latter must be returned to the Student Administration Office.

The following opportunities are available to students who are not covered by specific agreements between the University and other Institutions and who are engaged in documented employment activities in Italy:

• inclusion in the “working students” category from enrolment or at any point during the academic career
• assessment of any previous university career with the recognition of exams already passed
• recognition of previous documented professional training or work experience undertaken at public or private organisations, provided that such experience is consistent with the content and learning outcomes of the enrolled Degree Programme/Master’s Degree Programme. Requests must be submitted to the University’s Student Guidance Service. Recognition of this experience leads to the assignment of the corresponding ECTS credits for internships/placements
• the same number of exam sessions and on the same dates as full-time students who are not employed and studying on site, with the possibility to take exams at the start of the session to reduce waiting times, subject to agreement with the course instructor

Working students may indicate their intention to be included in this category during enrolment or when renewing their registration, attaching official documentation proving their status, which will be assessed by the Student Administration Office.

The same rules and procedures set out in the Student Handbook for full-time students shall apply, including the possibility of partial fee waivers based on income according to the ISEEU (see the second part of the Student Handbook).

Working students are granted a reduction of €100.00 on the last instalment (see the second part of the Student Handbook).

Pursuant to Article 40 of Presidential Decree 445/2000, as amended by Article 15 of Law no. 183 of 12 November 2011, since 1 January 2012, public administrations and providers of public services can no longer request or accept certificates issued by other public offices from private individuals.

Information regarding status, personal qualifications and facts must be provided by means of a substitute declaration of certification (Art. 46 Presidential Decree 445/2000) or a statutory declaration (Art. 47 Presidential Decree 445/2000).

Refusal by public administration bodies or providers of public services to accept such declarations constitutes a violation of official duties.

Each student, by logging into Esse3web, can download their self-certification relating to the exams taken.

Certificates

Certificates remain valid and can be used in dealings between private individuals and/or for use abroad.

According to current regulations, issued certificates are subject to a €16.00 revenue stamp. Certificates may be issued on plain paper only in cases expressly provided for by current legislation (Presidential Decree 642 of 26/10/1972 and subsequent provisions); in such cases, the student must make an explicit request stating the intended use of the certificate.

Certificate requests must be made directly by the person concerned. In cases of unavailability or impediment, collection may be delegated to a third party, who must present themselves at the Degree Programme Administration Office with a written authorisation on plain paper and a valid identity document.

The certificate may also be sent to the address indicated in writing by the applicant.
The University accepts no responsibility for any postal delays or issues.

The Diploma Supplement (DS) is an additional document to the official academic qualification obtained, developed by the European Commission, the Council of Europe, and UNESCO/CEPES with the aim of providing internationally transparent and comparable data on qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates, etc.), facilitating fair academic and professional recognition.

The Diploma Supplement, issued in both Italian and English and provided free of charge to students, is available only for graduates of first and second cycle Degree Programmes governed by Ministerial Decree 509/1999 and for first and second cycle graduates under Ministerial Decree 270/2004.

According to Article 2 of Law 148/2002, "responsibility for the recognition of study periods and cycles undertaken abroad and of foreign qualifications, for the purposes of admission to higher education, continuation of university studies and the award of Italian university qualifications, lies with the Universities and Higher Education Institutes. These bodies exercise such responsibility within the framework of their autonomy and in accordance with their respective regulations, subject to bilateral agreements in the matter."

Class L-20 (Communication Sciences)
Esse3 Code: LT01R

The Degree Programme, established pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/2004, lasts three years and offers two study tracks: International (ComIP-I) and Advertising (ComIP-P).

Admission (DM 270/04, art. 6, paragraph 1)

Students must:

• hold a secondary school diploma or another qualification obtained abroad that is recognised as suitable for access to university education
• have an adequate initial preparation. This requirement can be fulfilled, at the student’s choice, either in person through a non-selective interview to assess personal preparation, or by taking the CISIA TOLC-SU test

Students who meet the first requirement may complete enrolment in the Degree Programme before the assessment of their individual preparation.

For non-EU international students residing abroad and requiring a visa, knowledge of the Italian language at a level equal to or higher than B2/CEFR is required. The level will be assessed directly by the University through procedures and techniques established by the University itself.

Students found to have gaps in their knowledge of Italian must take part in the compulsory language tutoring service.

Assessment of Personal Preparation

Assessment of personal preparation is mandatory for all students, both Italian and international.

Where, When and How the Assessment Takes Place

• In person

  Interview on general knowledge topics and verification of the ability to comprehend texts related to the humanities and social sciences, including in English.
  For the purpose of gathering useful information for the formation of language classes, students may also be asked to take an English language placement test.
• Online
  TOLC-SU test in @HOME mode, that is, at the student’s own home or at a University, on a date and at a time chosen by the student when registering.
  The test consists of four sections: reading comprehension, knowledge and skills acquired during studies, logical reasoning, English.

Assessment Results

• In person
  Communicated to the student at the end of the interview.
• Online
  The score achieved in the TOLC-SU test will be displayed on the screen immediately after the end of the test. The validation of results will be available in the reserved CISIA test area 48 hours after the test (from 19:00), in the "Test results" section.
  The minimum score required to pass the test is 18/30 in the first section (“Reading comprehension”) and a total of 10/20 in the second and third sections (“Knowledge and skills acquired during studies” and “Logical reasoning”).
  The result of the English language section will only be used for placement in language classes.

Remedial Procedures

If the assessment test reveals gaps that may prevent successful progress in the Degree Programme, the academic tutor will advise the student on appropriate supplementary learning activities.

The remedial requirement is considered fulfilled if the student, by the end of the first year, obtains at least 24 ECTS credits by passing:

• the Contemporary History and Professional English exams
• one exam chosen from among the first-year courses

Students who have not fulfilled the remedial requirement by the September exam session will not be allowed to take second-year exams.

Enrolment

Enrolment is carried out online, according to the procedures specified in the Academic Regulations. The enrolment form, which can be printed at the end of the online enrolment procedure, must be submitted to the Degree Programme Student Administration Office together with the required documentation specified in the Academic Regulations, by 31 October 2026.

Enrolment is finalised only after the Student Administration Office has received the required documents and confirmed their validity.

Programme Structure

The Degree Programme in International and Advertising Communication includes learning activities totalling 180 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System), as indicated in the programme structure.

Class L-10 (Humanities)
Esse3 Code: LT02R

The Degree Programme, established pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/2004, lasts three years and offers two tracks: Digital and Cultural.

Admission

(MD 270/04, Art. 6, paragraph 1)

Applicants must:

• hold an upper secondary school diploma or another qualification obtained abroad, recognised as suitable for university admission
• possess adequate initial preparation
  This requirement will be assessed, at the student's discretion, either in person through a non-selective interview to verify individual preparation, or online via the TOLC-SU CISIA test.

Students who meet the first requirement may complete their enrolment in the Degree Programme before the assessment of individual preparation.

International non-EU students residing abroad and applying for a visa must demonstrate Italian language proficiency at level B2/CEFR or above.

The level will be assessed directly by the University using methods and techniques determined by the institution.

Students found to have gaps in Italian language knowledge will be required to participate in mandatory language tutoring sessions.

Assessment of Individual Preparation

The assessment of individual preparation is mandatory for all students, both Italian and international.

  Interview covering general culture topics and an assessment of reading comprehension for texts related to humanities and social sciences, also in English.
  In order to gather information useful for the Language Workshop group placement, students may be asked to take an English language placement test.
• Online
  TOLC-SU test in @HOME mode, i.e., at the student's own residence or at a University, on a date and time selected by the student during registration.
  The test consists of four sections: text comprehension, acquired knowledge and skills, logical reasoning, English.

Assessment Results

• In person
  Results will be communicated to the student at the end of the interview.
• Online
  The score achieved in the TOLC-SU test will be displayed on screen immediately after completion. The validation of the results will be available in the reserved CISIA test area 48 hours after the test (from 7:00 pm), in the “Test Results” section.
  The minimum passing score is 18/30 in the first section (“Text Comprehension”) and 10/20 overall in the second and third sections (“Acquired Knowledge and Skills” and “Logical Reasoning”).
  The result of the English language section will be used only for allocation to the appropriate Language Workshop groups.

Support Measures

If the assessment reveals learning gaps that could hinder successful participation in the Degree Programme, the academic tutor will recommend appropriate supplementary educational activities.

The support requirement will be considered fulfilled if, by the end of the first year, the student obtains at least 24 ECTS credits by passing:

• the exams in Contemporary History and Professional English
• one exam chosen from the first-year course offerings

Students who do not fulfil the support requirement by the September exam session will not be permitted to take second year exams.

Enrolment

Enrolment must be completed online, in accordance with the provisions set out in the Study Guide. The enrolment form, which can be printed at the end of the online enrolment procedure, must be sent to the University Degree Programmes Student Administration Office, together with the documents indicated in the Study Guide, by 31 October 2026.

Enrolment will be finalised only after the Student Administration Office for Degree Programmes has received and verified all required documentation.

Study Plan

The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World includes the following learning activities, for a total of 180 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System): study plan.

Class L-15 (Tourism Sciences) and L/GASTR (Gastronomic Sciences, Cultures and Policies)
Esse3 Code: LT03R

Bachelor's Degree Programme established pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/2004. Upon enrolment, students must indicate the degree class in which they intend to obtain their qualification (L-15 or L/GASTR). Students may change their choice, provided it becomes final upon registration for the third year.

Admission (DM 270/04, art. 6, para. 1)

Students must:

• hold a secondary school diploma or other qualification obtained abroad, recognised as suitable for access to university education
• possess an adequate initial preparation. Verification of this requirement will take place, at the student's choice, either in person through a non-selective interview to assess individual preparation, or remotely via the CISIA TOLC-SU test.

Students who meet the first requirement may complete enrolment in the degree programme before taking the individual preparation assessment.

Non-EU international students residing abroad who require a visa must demonstrate a level of Italian language proficiency equal to or higher than B2/CEFR.

The level will be verified directly by the University, according to methods and procedures determined by the University itself. Students who show gaps in Italian language proficiency will be required to participate in the language tutoring service.

Assessment of Individual Preparation

The assessment of individual preparation is compulsory for all students, both Italian and international.

How to register for the assessment

  The score obtained in the TOLC-SU test will be displayed on-screen immediately after the test. The official validation of the results will be available in the CISIA reserved area 48 hours after the test (from 19:00), in the “Test Results” section.
  The minimum score to pass is 18/30 in the first section (“Text Comprehension”) and a total of 10/20 in the second and third sections (“Knowledge and skills acquired during previous studies” and “Logical reasoning”).
  The results of the English section will be considered only for admission to language classes.

Remedial Measures

If the assessment highlights educational gaps that could prevent satisfactory progress in the degree programme, the academic tutor will direct the student to suitable supplementary learning activities.

The remedial requirement is considered fulfilled if, by the end of the first year, the student obtains at least 24 ECTS, passing:

• the Contemporary History and Professional English exams
• one examination of the student's choice among the first-year courses

Students who have not fulfilled the remedial requirement by the September examination session will not be allowed to sit exams for the second year.

Enrolment is carried out online, according to the procedures set out in the Study Guide. The enrolment form, which can be printed at the end of the online enrolment procedure, must be submitted to the University Student Administration Office for Degree Programmes, together with the documents specified in the Study Guide, by 31 October 2026.

• possess adequate initial academic preparation. This requirement will be assessed, at the student’s choice, either in person—through a non-selective interview to assess individual preparation—or remotely, through the TOLC-SU CISIA test.

Students who meet the first requirement may finalise their enrolment in the Degree Programme before completion of the assessment of individual preparation.

International non-EU students residing abroad who require a visa must demonstrate an Italian language proficiency of B2 CEFR or higher.

The level will be assessed directly by the University, using methods and techniques established by the University. Students found to have gaps in their Italian language proficiency will be required to participate in language tutoring.

• hold a three-year university degree or diploma or an equivalent qualification obtained abroad, recognised as suitable
• meet the curricular requirements specified in the next point 2
• sit a compulsory, non-selective interview to assess personal preparation upon entry (see subsequent point 3)

Access to the interview is subject to possession of the prescribed curricular requirements.

For international non-EU students residing abroad who require a visa, a knowledge of the Italian language at level B2/CEFR or higher is required. The level will be assessed directly by the University using methods and procedures determined by the University itself.

1. Curricular requirements

Admission to the programme requires possession of a three-year degree (or equivalent) in the classes L-5; L-10; L-11; L-12; L-15; L-18; L-24; L-33; L-36; L-37; L-39; L-40; L-20; L-GASTR, or otherwise the curricular requirements for a total of 60 ECTS credits in the following Scientific-Disciplinary Sectors (SSD):

Any additional credits beyond the 180 normally required for the three-year degree may be included in the total, provided they were obtained in subjects relating to the specified fields.

It is possible to include in the calculation any language and/or IT certifications and/or internship experiences deemed relevant to the specified fields and sectors, where these exceed the credits of the three-year degree.

Any additional credits required to meet the curricular requirements, to be obtained prior to enrolment in the master's degree programme and before the assessment of individual preparation, may be acquired at any University in the form of “individual course units” within first-cycle degree programmes.

2. Assessment of personal preparation

This is compulsory for all students, both Italian and international, and is subject to positive verification of curricular requirements. It takes place upon entry through a non-selective interview.

Students about to graduate from a three-year degree programme who intend to enrol in a master's degree programme at the University for Foreigners may take the interview to assess individual preparation before earning the three-year degree if:

1. they meet the required curricular requirements
2. they expect to obtain the three-year degree by February 2026

How the assessment is conducted

Candidates must present themselves, with a valid identity document, at the times and places stated (see “Where the assessment takes place”) in order to sit the entrance test.

The assessment consists of an interview in the following areas:

• semiotic, linguistic and IT disciplines: advanced skills in written and spoken Italian, knowledge of the variety system of contemporary Italian, basic knowledge of semiotics, competence in using main office automation packages (MS Office, Open Office, iWork), and the ability to conduct bibliographic research online
• social and media studies: basic knowledge in general sociology and the sociology of cultural and communicative processes
• methodologies, analysis and communication techniques: basic knowledge of performing arts, photography, drawing and new media
• human and socio-economic sciences: basic knowledge of political economy, economic policy, and economics and business management.

To support the creation of language groups, students will also be asked to sit a placement test in English and Spanish.
