Students enrolled for the academic year 2026-2027 can benefit from the UMBRIA VAI pass and travel without limits on the Local Public Transport services of the Umbria Region, which include:
local public transport services by bus, both urban and interurban
the Sansepolcro – Terni railway line and the Perugia Ponte San Giovanni – Perugia Sant’Anna line (formerly Ferrovia Centrale Umbra)

The pass may be requested by students enrolled at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia who belong to the following categories:
- Bachelor’s Degree Programmes
- Master’s Degree Programmes
- Incoming Erasmus Programme
- International students attending Italian language and culture courses
- PhD programmes
- First and Second Level Master's programmes
- Specialisation courses
- Teacher training course
- Single course units
To obtain the pass, students must first apply via the Esse3WEB platform of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and pay the fee of €70.00 through Pago PA, either at the time of enrolment/registration or afterwards.
In order to issue the pass, the purchasing student must:
access the TPLWEB Portal using SALGO app credentials, or register if not already in possession of them;
create the virtual card by uploading a passport photo, selecting the UNIPG AND UNIPG STRA Profile (Already paid via PagoPA), entering the Italian Tax Code (this is required only once to verify the €70.00 payment), and providing the phone number of the device that uses the SALGO app;
select the Umbria Vai subscription, indicating the phone number of the mobile device on which the subscription will be displayed (only one phone number can be associated with a single device) and complete the issuance process at no additional cost.
Subsequently, the student must log in to the SALGO app and authenticate with their credentials: the subscription will be available in the “MY TICKETS” section of the app.
Undergraduate and Graduate Degree Programme Students
To obtain the pass, you must first apply through the Esse3WEB platform of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and pay the amount of €70.00 via the Pago PA payment notice, either at the time of registration/enrolment or at a later stage.
For issuance, the purchasing student must:
- access the TPLWEB Portal using the SALGO app credentials and, if not already registered, complete the registration process;
- create the virtual card by uploading a passport photo, selecting the UNIPG E UNIPG STRA Profile (Payment completed via PagoPA), entering the Tax Code (this is required only once in order to verify the €70.00 payment), and indicating the mobile number of the device where the SALGO app is used;
- select the Umbria Vai subscription, providing the mobile phone number of the device on which to display the subscription (only one phone number associated with a single device can be selected), and complete the issuance process at no additional cost.
Afterwards, the student must access the SALGO app and log in with their credentials: the subscription will be available in the “MY PASSES” section of the app.
To obtain the pass, you must contact the Language Courses Administration Office at corsidilingua@unistrapg.it and request the issuance of the €70.00 payment notice, specifying your student ID number (LINXXXXXX).
For the pass to be issued, the purchasing student must:
- access the TPLWEB Portal using the SALGO app credentials or, if not yet registered, complete the registration process;
- create a virtual card by uploading an ID photo, selecting the UNIPG E UNIPG STRA Profile (Already paid via PagoPA), entering the Tax Code shown on the PagoPA payment slip (this operation is required only once to verify the €70.00 payment), and providing the mobile phone number of the device on which the SALGO app will be used;
- select the Umbria Vai subscription, enter the phone number of the mobile device where the subscription will be displayed (only one phone number per device may be selected), and complete the issuance procedure at no additional cost.
Afterwards, the student must log into the SALGO app and authenticate using their credentials: the subscription will be available in the “MY TICKETS” section of the app.
The pass is issued via the SALGO App, following payment of the required fee, within five working days after payment.
The UMBRIA VAI pass is valid from 1 October 2026 until 30 September 2027.
