Students enrolled for the 2026-2027 academic year can take advantage of the UMBRIA VAI pass and travel unlimitedly on local public transport services throughout the Umbria Region, which include:
local public transport bus services, both urban and interurban
Sansepolcro – Terni and Perugia Ponte San Giovanni – Perugia Sant’Anna railway lines (formerly Ferrovia Centrale Umbra)
Minimetrò
Orvieto funicular
The pass is available to students enrolled at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia in the following categories:
- Bachelor’s degree programmes
- Master’s degree programmes
- Incoming Erasmus programme
- International students attending Italian language and culture courses
- PhD programmes
- First and second level master's programmes
- Advanced specialisation courses
- Teacher training course
- Single courses
To obtain the pass, students must first apply via the Esse3WEB platform of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and pay the fee of €70.00 through Pago PA, either at the time of enrolment/registration or afterwards.
In order to issue the pass, the purchasing student must:
access the TPLWEB Portal using SALGO app credentials, or register if not already in possession of them;
create the virtual card by uploading a passport photo, selecting the UNIPG AND UNIPG STRA Profile (Already paid via PagoPA), entering the Italian Tax Code (this is required only once to verify the €70.00 payment), and providing the phone number of the device that uses the SALGO app;
select the Umbria Vai subscription, indicating the phone number of the mobile device on which the subscription will be displayed (only one phone number can be associated with a single device) and complete the issuance process at no additional cost.
Subsequently, the student must log in to the SALGO app and authenticate with their credentials: the subscription will be available in the “MY TICKETS” section of the app.
Undergraduate and Graduate Degree Programme Students
To obtain the pass, you must first apply for it on the Esse3WEB platform of the University for Foreigners of Perugia and pay the fee of €70.00 via Pago PA notice, either when enrolling/registering or at a later time.
To be issued the pass, the student purchasing it must:
- access the TPLWEB Portal using the SALGO app credentials and, if not already registered, complete the registration process;
- create the virtual card by uploading a passport-sized photo, selecting the UNIPG AND UNIPG STRA Profile (Already paid via PagoPA), entering their Italian Tax Code (this must be done only once to verify the €70.00 payment), and providing the mobile phone number of the device where the SALGO app is installed;
- select the Umbria Vai subscription, entering the mobile phone number of the device on which the subscription will be displayed (only one phone number associated with a single device can be selected) and complete the issuance process at no additional cost.
Next, the student must log in to the SALGO app using their credentials: the subscription will be available in the “MY PASSES” section of the app.
To obtain the pass, you must contact the Language Courses Office by email at corsidilingua@unistrapg.it and request the issuance of the €70.00 payment notice, indicating your student ID number (LINXXXXXX).
To complete the process, the purchasing student must:
- access the TPLWEB Portal using SALGO app credentials or, if not yet registered, complete the registration process;
- create the virtual card by uploading a passport photo, selecting Profilo UNIPG E UNIPG STRA (Already paid via PagoPA), entering the Tax Code shown on the pagoPa payment receipt (this step must be completed only once to verify the €70.00 payment), and providing the mobile number of the device on which you use the SALGO app;
- select the Umbria Vai subscription, entering the mobile phone number of the device where you wish to display the subscription (you may select only one phone number associated with a single device), and complete the issuance process free of charge.
Afterwards, the student must log in to the SALGO app with their credentials: the subscription will be available in the “MY TICKETS” section of the app.
The pass is issued via the SALGO App, upon payment of the required fee, within five working days following payment.
The UMBRIA VAI pass is valid from 1 October 2026 until 30 September 2027.
