    • for the Master's degree: minimum level C1 (DUEF, DELF, DALF, or evaluation test by the partner university)

The number of students admitted to the double degree programme is determined annually and includes a maximum of ten students per university.

The mobility period corresponds to the third academic year—non-divisible—of the Bachelor’s programme, and to the second academic year—non-divisible—of the Master’s programme. In both cases, the mobility period may be combined with an Erasmus+ mobility, subject to application deadlines established each year by the Erasmus call.

During the mobility period, students are required to attend the courses indicated in the study plan developed by both universities and to pass all prescribed exams, for a total of 60 ECTS credits, including the compulsory internship.

For the double Bachelor’s degree programme, the internship will be completed entirely during the mobility year. For the double Master’s degree programme, the internship will be divided equally, with half taking place during the first year at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and half during the second year at the Université de Lorraine Nancy.

Students participating in the double degree programme

  • will be enrolled at both institutions during the current academic year and will pay tuition fees only at their home university
  • will be considered by both parties as full-fledged students, with the same benefits, rights, and responsibilities as regular students. In particular, they will have access to courses, tutorials, laboratory internships, seminars, and conferences
  • will therefore hold student status at both institutions
  • will comply with the internal regulations of the host institution and all legal obligations of the host country
  • must comply with the legislation in force in the host country, particularly with regard to health insurance and social security

Both universities will handle all administrative registration procedures and student record management for students from the partner university through their respective student services offices and academic coordinators for the double degree programme.

Students are required to regularly attend classes and take the relevant examinations according to the regulations of the host university.

During their study period abroad, students must comply with the academic and examination regulations of the host institution regarding teaching organization, assessment methods, and exam procedures.

Courses will be taught in French.

Students of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia are required to complete a final examination at L’Université de Lorraine at the end of their mobility period (third year for the Bachelor's degree and second year for the Master's degree), in accordance with the regulations of the Université de Lorraine for the awarding of the degree.

Students may write their Bachelor's final examination or Master's thesis in either Italian or French, as agreed with their supervisor. In all cases, they must also submit an extensive summary of their work in the other language.

By way of exception to the thesis regulations of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, the final examination carried out at the Université de Lorraine is also recognised as the thesis defence for the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, provided that a member of the academic staff from the Università per Stranieri di Perugia participates in the assessment committee, either in person or remotely.

Students must, in any case, formally submit their thesis application by email to the Registrar’s Office at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, pay the relevant fee, and send a copy of the final thesis before the thesis defence at Université de Lorraine Nancy.
