Framework agreement for international academic cooperation between the University of Tirana and the Università per Stranieri di Perugia aimed at awarding a dual bachelor's degree in "Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World" (LiCIMoD) from both the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and the University of Tirana.
Students of the University for Foreigners of Perugia who wish to enroll in the double degree program and meet the admission requirements must submit their application to the Student Office (application form, curriculum vitae, and motivation letter in Italian and French) when enrolling in the second year of their program, by the end of October.
To be admitted to the third year of the double degree programme, students must:
- have obtained the credits required by the study plan for the first and second year by September 30th
- have certified proficiency in Italian at a minimum B2 level (CEFR)
The mobility period corresponds to the entire third academic year of the degree programme and cannot be split. It may be combined with an Erasmus+ mobility period (by applying within the deadlines set annually by the Erasmus call).
During the mobility phase, students are required to attend the courses outlined in the study plan developed by both Universities and to successfully complete all required examinations, for a total of 60 ECTS credits, including the mandatory internship and thesis defense.
Students participating in the double degree programme
- will be enrolled at both institutions during the academic year and will pay tuition fees only at their home university
- will be regarded by both parties as full-time students, with the same benefits, rights, and responsibilities as regular students. In particular, they will have access to courses, tutorials, laboratory placements, seminars, and conferences
- will therefore have student status at both institutions
- will be required to comply with the internal regulations of the host institution and all legal obligations of the host country
- will be required to comply with local legislation in force in the host country, particularly with regard to health insurance and social security
Both universities will be responsible for all administrative enrolment procedures and the management of student records from the partner university, through their respective student offices and faculty coordinators for the double degree programme.
Students are required to attend classes regularly and take the relevant examinations in accordance with the procedures established by the host university's academic regulations.
During their period of study abroad, students must comply with the rules in force at the host institution regarding the organization of teaching activities, as well as examination procedures and assessment methods.
Courses will be taught in Italian.
Students of the University for Foreigners of Perugia take a final examination at the University of Tirana at the end of their mobility period (third year), in accordance with the regulations of the University of Tirana, in order to obtain their degree. As part of this examination, students must complete a final project, preferably agreed upon with the University for Foreigners of Perugia, for the purpose of awarding the LiCIMoD degree.
By way of exception to the thesis regulations of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, the final examination at the University of Tirana will also be recognized as the thesis defense by the University for Foreigners of Perugia, provided that a member of the academic staff from the University for Foreigners of Perugia, even if participating remotely, is included on the evaluation board.
Students are still required to submit a formal thesis request by email to the administrative office of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, pay the associated fee, and send a copy of their final project prior to the thesis defense at the University of Tirana.
