Framework agreement for international academic cooperation between the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and Mittweida University of Applied Sciences aimed at awarding a double Bachelor’s degree: the degree in “Social Sciences for Sustainability and International Cooperation” (SOCI) from Università per Stranieri di Perugia and the degree in “Global Communication in Business and Culture” from Mittweida University of Applied Sciences
- A three-party individual learning agreement, in accordance with ERASMUS standards, is mandatory and will serve as the basis for enrolment in the programme/degree.
- Demonstrated English language proficiency at a minimum level of B2/CEFR is required.
The number of students admitted to the double degree programme each year is limited to a maximum of 5 per university.
The mobility period lasts for two semesters, which do not necessarily have to be consecutive, and must be linked to an Erasmus+ mobility period (an application must be submitted according to the annual Erasmus call deadlines).
During the mobility period, students are required to attend the courses specified in the study plan developed by both universities and to successfully complete all required exams, for a total of 60 ECTS credits, including, if applicable, the mandatory internship and thesis defense.
Students participating in the double degree programme
- will be enrolled at both institutions during the current academic year and will pay tuition fees only at their home university
- will be regarded by both parties as full students, enjoying the same benefits, rights, and responsibilities as regular students. In particular, they are entitled to attend courses, tutorials, laboratory internships, seminars, and conferences
- will therefore have student status at both institutions
- will comply with the host institution’s internal regulations and all legal obligations of the host country
- must comply with the legislation in force in the host country, particularly regarding health insurance and social security
Both universities will handle all administrative enrolment formalities and the management of student records from the partner university through their respective Student Offices and programme coordinators for the double degree programme.
Students are required to attend classes regularly and to take the relevant examinations according to the procedures established by the host university’s regulations.
During their period of study abroad, students must comply with the rules of the host institution regarding the organization of teaching activities, examination procedures, and assessment methods.
The courses will be taught in English.
Students from the Università per Stranieri di Perugia or the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences will write their thesis/thesis project during their third year at either their home institution or the host institution, as specified in their Learning Agreement.
Students must in any case submit a formal thesis application to the Registrar’s Office of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, pay the relevant fee, and send a copy of the final thesis before the defense, even if the thesis defense takes place at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences.
