The course aims to train professionals qualified to serve as online tutors (or e-tutors), capable of interacting with the various stakeholders involved in online education and of purposefully utilising online resources and tools to address users’ needs and support their learning processes. Furthermore, the course enables tutors to navigate the University’s LOL platform (Moodle) and to gain familiarity with specific technological tools that support teaching.
The online tutor may act both as support for remote teaching and facilitator of online learning, and as an independent professional able to design distance education pathways and assessment activities.
The online tutoring expert can apply their expertise in various sectors: public and private companies, non-governmental organisations, public administration, educational institutions at all levels, and organisations or institutions seeking to deliver staff training through online courses.
The course is also beneficial for those already working in the field of online education, as it provides an opportunity to strengthen, update, and enhance their knowledge and skills.
Bachelor’s degree obtained pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/04 or 509/99, or a degree awarded under the regulations in force prior to Ministerial Decree 509/99, or an equivalent qualification obtained abroad.
In order to ensure successful participation in the programme, a good command of Italian is recommended for students whose first language is not Italian.

All learning activities are asynchronous, allowing maximum flexibility in organising study time. Participants are required to complete the teaching modules sequentially according to an activity schedule, which sets out the start and end dates; they must also complete assessments (end-of-module tests and the final evaluation) on the days and within the timeframes specified in the same schedule.
An academic tutor supports participants throughout the course, encouraging and monitoring active participation, including completion of the activities assigned within each module and engagement with fellow participants in the forums, which, while not mandatory, are strongly recommended.
