Double degree program between the Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences for Sustainability and International Cooperation (SOCI) and the Bachelor's degree in Global Communication in Business and Culture at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, Germany

  • A three-party individual learning agreement, compliant with ERASMUS standards, is mandatory and will serve as the basis for enrolment in the programme/degree.
  • Proven English language proficiency at a minimum level of B2/CEFR is required.

The number of students admitted to the double degree program each year is limited to a maximum of 5 per university.

The mobility period lasts two semesters, which do not necessarily have to be consecutive, and must be linked to an Erasmus+ mobility period (applications must be submitted according to the annual deadlines specified in the Erasmus call for applications).

During the mobility period, students are required to attend the courses indicated in the study plan developed by both universities and to successfully complete all required exams, for a total of 60 ECTS credits, including, where applicable, the compulsory internship and thesis defense.

Students participating in the double degree programme

  • will be enrolled at both institutions during the current academic year and will pay tuition fees only at their home university
  • will be regarded by both parties as fully enrolled students, enjoying the same benefits, rights and responsibilities as regular students. In particular, they will have access to courses, tutorials, laboratory internships, seminars and conferences
  • will therefore hold student status at both institutions
  • will comply with the internal regulations of the host institution and all legal requirements of the host country
  • must comply with the legislation in force in the host country, particularly with regard to health insurance and social security

Both universities will be responsible for all administrative enrolment procedures and for managing the student records of those coming from the partner university, through their respective student offices and programme coordinators for the double degree programme.

Students are required to attend classes regularly and take the corresponding exams according to the procedures established by the host university's academic regulations.

During the study period abroad, students must comply with the academic and examination regulations of the host institution, including the organization of teaching, examination methods, and grading criteria.

Courses will be taught in English.

Students from the Università per Stranieri di Perugia or Mittweida University of Applied Sciences will write their thesis or thesis project at either their home institution or the host institution at the end of the third year, as specified in their Learning Agreement.

Regardless of where the thesis is defended, students are required to formally apply for the thesis at the Student Office of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, pay the related fee, and submit a copy of their final thesis before the defense, even if the defense takes place at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences.
