Durata:
The course aims to develop a foundational scientific understanding of language teaching (glottodidactics) and Italian linguistics, as well as to explore their practical applications in teaching Italian language and culture to students in higher education institutions. It is delivered by professors and researchers from the degree programs of the Department of Italian Language, Literature and Arts in the World, who bring their teaching expertise to support teachers of Italian as a foreign language.
The online component is structured in a series of modules that progressively illustrate the fundamentals of teaching and learning a foreign language across the various CEFR levels. The curriculum ranges from the Basics of Foreign Language Didactics to Key Concepts in Linguistics from a Diachronic Perspective, and on to Innovative Language Technologies. Additional modules are dedicated to the teaching of literary texts and to theoretical and practical issues related to translation. Lessons with a more specifically linguistic focus are complemented and enriched by cultural modules (Art, Geography), designed to expand the technical vocabulary. The training offer is completed by a session focusing on the inclusive model adopted by the Italian education system.
The in-person component of the course has a more practical focus, combining an observational internship in classes of Italian language and culture with a series of lessons taught by professors and researchers from the degree programs, aimed at providing the technical and practical skills needed to transform acquired knowledge into effective teaching practices.
