Framework agreement for international academic cooperation between the Jagiellonian University of Kraków and the Università per Stranieri di Perugia aimed at awarding a joint master's double degree between the Master's Degree in "Global International Relations and Public Diplomacy" of the Jagiellonian University of Kraków and the Master's Degree in "International Relations and Development Cooperation" of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia.
Each year, universities publish a call for applications to select students. The evaluation is carried out by a committee consisting of at least two members from each university. The committee may conduct the selection process through online meetings. Before the committee meeting, candidates are interviewed at their home university.
To enroll in the second year of the double degree programme, students must:
- have acquired the ECTS credits required by the first-year curriculum
- have proven English language proficiency at least at B2/CEFR level
The mobility period corresponds to the second academic year of the master's degree programme and cannot be divided. It may be combined with an Erasmus+ mobility period (by submitting an application in accordance with the deadlines set out annually in the Erasmus call for applications).
During the mobility period, students are required to attend the courses specified in the curriculum developed by the two universities and to pass all the required exams, for a total of 60 ECTS, including the mandatory internship and the thesis defence.
Students participating in the double degree programme
- are enrolled at both universities during the current academic year and pay tuition fees only to their home university
- are considered full-fledged students, with the same benefits, rights, and responsibilities as regular students. In particular, they have access to: courses, tutorials, laboratory placements, seminars, and conferences
- therefore, hold student status at both institutions
- must comply with the internal regulations of the host institution and fulfill all legal obligations of the host country
- must comply with the legislation in force in the host country, particularly with regard to health insurance and social security
Both universities are responsible for all administrative enrolment procedures and the management of student records from the partner university through their respective Student Offices and the academic coordinators of the double degree programme.
Students are required to attend classes regularly and take the associated examinations in accordance with the regulations of the host university.
During the study period abroad, students must comply with the rules of the host institution regarding the organization of teaching, as well as the procedures for conducting and evaluating examinations.
Courses are taught in English.
Students of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia are required to undertake their final examination at the Jagiellonian University of Krakow at the end of their mobility period (second year), in accordance with the regulations established by the Jagiellonian University of Krakow for awarding the Master's degree.
As part of this examination, students carry out individual research culminating in the submission of their Master's thesis and the final examination.
The thesis application must be submitted by 15 September of the final year of study, and the thesis must be defended within 30 days of submitting the application, preferably in coordination with the Università per Stranieri di Perugia for the purpose of awarding the RICS degree.
By way of exception to the thesis regulations of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, the final examination at the Jagiellonian University of Krakow will therefore be recognized as the thesis defense also for the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, provided that a faculty member from the Università per Stranieri di Perugia participates as a member of the examination board, either in person or via teleconferencing.
Students are nonetheless required to submit the standard thesis application by email to the Registrar’s Office of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, pay the associated fee, and send a copy of the final thesis before defending it at the Jagiellonian University of Krakow.
