Framework agreement on international academic cooperation between the Université de Lorraine Nancy and the Università per Stranieri di Perugia aimed at awarding a double Bachelor's degree between the "Lingua e Cultura Italiana nel Mondo Digitale" (LiCIMoD) programme at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and the "Langues, Littératures, Civilisations Étrangères et Régionales" (LLCER), Italian track, Teaching Professions Option at the Université de Lorraine, as well as a double Master's degree between the Master's in "Italiano per l’Insegnamento a Stranieri" (ItAS) at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and the Master's in "Métiers de l’Enseignement, de l’Éducation et de la Formation" (MEEF), secondary level, Italian track at the Université de Lorraine.
Students of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia who wish to enroll in the double degree programme and meet the admission requirements must submit their application to the Registrar’s Office (application form, curriculum vitae, and motivation letter in both Italian and French) by the end of October:
- for the Bachelor's degree: upon registration for the second year of study
- for the Master's degree: upon initial enrollment
- be regularly enrolled
- in the second year of the Bachelor's degree in "Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World" (LiCIMoD) at the time of applying for admission to the double degree programme
- in the third year of the Bachelor's degree in "Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World" (LiCIMoD) and have obtained at least 120 ECTS at the time of departure for the double degree mobility
- in the second year of the Master's degree in "Italian for Teaching to Foreigners" (ItAS) and have obtained at least 60 ECTS at the time of departure for the double degree mobility
- have certified proficiency in French
- for the double bachelor's degree: minimum level B2 (DUEF, DELF, DALF, or proficiency test administered by the partner university)
- for the double master's degree: minimum level C1 (DUEF, DELF, DALF, or proficiency test administered by the partner university)
The number of students admitted to the double degree program is agreed upon each year and includes a maximum of ten students per university.
The mobility period corresponds to the third academic year, which cannot be split, of the Bachelor's degree program, and to the second academic year, also non-divisible, of the Master's degree program. In both cases, the mobility period may be combined with an Erasmus+ mobility, by applying according to the annual Erasmus call deadlines.
During the mobility period, students are required to attend the courses outlined in the study plan developed by both universities and to complete all required examinations, for a total of 60 ECTS credits, including the mandatory internship.
For the double Bachelor's degree program, the internship will be carried out entirely during the mobility year. For the double Master's degree program, the internship will be split: half will take place in the first year at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and the other half in the second year at the Université de Lorraine Nancy.
Students participating in the double degree programme
- will be enrolled at both institutions for the current academic year and will pay tuition fees only at their home university
- will be regarded by both parties as full students, enjoying the same benefits, rights, and responsibilities as regular students. In particular, they are allowed access to courses, tutorials, laboratory placements, seminars, and conferences
- will therefore hold student status at both institutions
- must comply with the internal regulations of the host institution and all legal obligations of the host country
- must abide by the legislation in force in the host country, particularly with regard to health insurance and social security
Both universities will oversee all administrative registration formalities and management of student records from the partner university, through their respective registries and designated academic contacts for the double degree programme.
Students are required to attend classes regularly and to take the corresponding examinations according to the procedures established by the host university's regulations.
During the study period abroad, students must comply with the rules in force at the host institution regarding the organisation of teaching as well as examination procedures and assessment methods.
Courses will be delivered in French.
Students of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia complete a final examination at L’Université de Lorraine at the end of their mobility period (third year for the undergraduate programme and second year for the Master’s programme), in accordance with the regulations of L’Université de Lorraine for the awarding of the degree.
Students may write their undergraduate final examination and Master’s thesis in either Italian or French, as agreed upon with their supervisor. In any case, students must also provide an extensive summary of their work in the other language.
As an exception to the thesis regulations of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, the final examination at L’Université de Lorraine is also considered as the thesis defence for the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, provided that a member of the assessment committee is a lecturer from the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, who may participate via remote connection.
Students must nonetheless submit the official thesis application via email to the Student Office of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, pay the relevant fee, and send a copy of the final dissertation before the thesis defence at Université de Lorraine Nancy.
