The University for Foreigners of Perugia, together with the Water Resources Research and Documentation Centre (WARREDOC) and the UNESCO Water Chair on Water Resources Management and Culture, is once again supporting the awareness campaign for World Water Day on March 22, established by the United Nations in 1992 during the Rio Conference.
Each year, UN-Water sets the theme for the day, and the theme for 2026 is "Water and Gender".
On the occasion of World Water Day, UNESCO-WWAP, hosted in Umbria at a Unistrapg location, publishes the United Nations World Water Development Report (WWDR), the UN-Water reference report that every year addresses a different theme and provides policy recommendations to decision-makers through the analysis of good practices and technical and scientific insights.
Join us for the presentation of the UN World Water Development Report 2026 "Water for all people, equal rights and opportunities"
Warredoc and UNESCO will be present at the following events:
- UNESCO Venice at the "High-Level Panel Discussion at the World Water Day 2026 Celebration and Launch of the UN World Water Development Report 2026”
- Perugia with UN-WWAP "Women meeting Water"
- Unifi UNESCO Chair Prevention and Sustainable Management of Geo-Hydrological Hazards
"Water for equality means... A dialogue on equity, resource management, and women's participation for World Water Day"
