The Week of the Italian Language in the World with Unistrapg

The Week, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes, under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, reaches its 26th edition this year, featuring the theme “Ingenious Language: Imagining, Designing, and Creating with Italian”. The initiative aims to highlight the strategic link between culture and Italy’s economic growth, for which the Italian language and Italophony are privileged tools.

The Università per Stranieri di Perugia, through several delegations, will carry out institutional missions in various countries during the Week from 19 to 25 October, and in the periods immediately preceding, depending on specific local contexts. The schedule begins on 9 October in Turkmenistan with events coordinated by the Italian Embassy in Ashgabat, at universities and centers where Italian is taught and promoted, with a particular focus on the country’s first Italian language certification center.

The University will then be represented by another delegation starting from 15 October in Armenia, with activities coordinated by the Italian Embassy in Yerevan at the Yerevan State University and “Brusov” State University—both reference centers for Italian language—featuring scheduled training sessions for faculty and students.

An additional delegation, with the Rector, will be present in Canada. This is the University’s first mission to Canada, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Ottawa, the Italian Cultural Institutes of Toronto and Montréal, and the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver. Meetings and initiatives will be held at these Institutes and Canadian universities offering Italian, with the aim of strengthening ties with academic institutions and reaffirming the University’s longstanding mission.

The Week, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through its diplomatic and consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes, under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, this year reaches its 26th edition with the theme “Ingenious Language: Designing, Planning, Creating with Italian”. The aim is to highlight the strategic link between culture and Italy’s economic growth, for which the Italian language and the Italophone community are a privileged instrument.

The University is invited to participate with a delegation of students from the ITALYOU project, carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in the opening day of the Week, scheduled for Thursday, 8 October 2026, in Rome at the Farnesina International Conference Hall.

The University for Foreigners of Perugia, through various delegations, will carry out institutional missions in different countries during the Week, from 19 to 25 October, as well as in the immediate periods before, depending on the specific requirements of each context.

The activities will begin on October 9 in Turkmenistan with events coordinated by the Italian Embassy in Ashgabat, taking place at universities and centers where Italian is taught and promoted. These events will focus in particular on the country's first Italian language certification center.

The University will also be represented by another delegation starting October 15 in Armenia, with initiatives coordinated by the Italian Embassy in Yerevan at Yerevan State University and Brusov State University, both key centers for the Italian language, featuring training sessions designed for both teachers and students.

An additional delegation will then travel to Canada. This mission, the first to include the University’s Rector in the country, is organized in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Ottawa, the Italian Cultural Institutes of Toronto and Montréal, and the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver. It will feature meetings and activities at these same Institutes and at Canadian universities where Italian is taught, with the aim of strengthening ties with higher education institutions and reaffirming the University’s longstanding international mission.

As part of the Week, the University will also participate in the IDOHE (Italian Days on Higher Education) Fairs, organized and promoted by Uni-Italia in collaboration with the Embassy in Hanoi and the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City. The fairs will be held in Vietnam on October 24 in Hanoi and October 25 in Ho Chi Minh City.
