Inaugural Address by the Rector, Prof. Valerio De Cesaris

The delegation from the University for Foreigners of Perugia, led by the Rector and composed of Prof. Giovanna Scocozza, delegate for international relations and director of the Center for Evaluation and Linguistic Certifications (CVCL), Prof. Stefania Scaglione, delegate for teaching, Dr. Roberta Rondoni, CVCL trainer, and Dr. Valentina Seri, head of the International Relations Service, will conduct visits to the Italian diplomatic representations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and will hold institutional meetings and workshops at the Universities of Hanoi and Social Sciences and Humanities of Ho Chi Minh City.
The University will be in Vietnam as part of the TRANSIT project (Transnational Italian in higher education) aimed at supporting, developing, and strengthening advanced training and research programs in the field of Italian studies and teaching, focusing on two different yet complementary socio-cultural areas: South America and the Far East. The two Vietnamese universities, both partners in this project, have long collaborated with the University for Foreigners and each hosts two important departments of Italian studies.
As part of the project, two seminars are planned: on Friday, November 28, 2025, entitled "The Value of the Italian Language and Culture in the Contemporary World", creating an ideal thread with the subsequent inaugural lecture by the Rector in Ho Chi Minh, and on Monday, December 1, 2025, on the topic of "The Italian Language as a Tool for Accessing Cultural Models in the Contemporary World".
