From 14 to 20 September 2026, a new edition of the Settimana della Custodia returns to Perugia, dedicated to small and large acts of care and love for the city of Perugia. The initiative aims to raise awareness among all citizens to become stewards of their own city through simple, concrete gestures of care and affection towards the places that host daily urban life.
The University for Foreigners of Perugia is taking part in this initiative on Friday, 18 September, with a green space clean-up and maintenance event in Sant’Angelo Park and the creation of an intercultural herb garden. In the square in front of Palazzo Gallenga, the University will organize a community lunch featuring language tandems with international students and moments of cultural exchange on environmental and food-related topics, as part of the Mercato dell'Arco Etrusco organised by CIA Umbria and in collaboration with local restaurateurs from the Distretto Garibaldi Association.

Urban regeneration activity and green space care at Parco Sant’Angelo
The shared cleaning and maintenance of the green area will also include the planting of local aromatic herbs and plants provided by CIA Umbria.
12:30 pm
Community lunch & language tandems in the square in front of Palazzo Gallenga
Participants will be able to purchase products at the Arco Etrusco Market by CIA Umbria and at the local food stands of the Associazione Distretto Garibaldi APS. Afterwards, there will be intercultural language tandems on the themes of food and the land.

At 9:30 am, participants will meet in Piazza Fortebraccio to reach Parco Sant’Angelo together.
