The MICO – Made in Italy, Food and Hospitality Degree Program aims to offer both cultural training on Made in Italy and technical-practical training that enables students to work within Made in Italy companies and in the fields of food, gastronomy, and hospitality. The MICO degree program, the only inter-class course in Italy between Tourism Sciences and Sciences, Cultures and Policies of Gastronomy, is designed to train professionals capable of promoting and enhancing the uniqueness and excellence of the Italian style worldwide. The MICO graduate is a true "ambassador of Made in Italy", with an interdisciplinary and systemic approach that integrates cultural, technical, managerial, and scientific skills in the fields of food, tourism, and hospitality.

Protection Consortia and Qualivita will contribute to the development of this professional profile by providing the tools to correctly and effectively promote PDO and PGI products—symbols of Italian agri-food excellence at the international level—through an in-depth overview of the main production districts of the PDO economy, illustrating the activities carried out by companies, Consortia, and institutions to protect and enhance the national heritage of Geographical Indications.

The seminar series is organized as part of the Food Geography Laboratory, curated by Prof. Luigi Mundula, and is aimed at students of the MICO degree course.
However, participation in the in-person meetings is open to all students and faculty of the University.
To ensure proper organization of the venue and tasting products, please confirm your attendance in advance by email to luigi.mundula@unistrapg.it, specifying the date of the meeting you are interested in.
