Beyond the Anthropocene

The nature in question

Offshore wind turbines
Palazzo Gallenga, Room XIII

The global ecological crisis compels us to profoundly rethink the relationship between humans and nature. Addressing the challenges raised by the Anthropocene means questioning the very foundations of our thought and the ways in which we have so far understood the environment.
Nature is no longer merely the backdrop for human action, but rather a web of processes and relationships: a complex system in which we are both a product and an agent of transformation. This awareness gives rise to the need for new forms of responsibility.
Through various perspectives, the conference offers a philosophical discussion on the transformations of the concept of nature in the Anthropocene.
