Degree Programme in Made in Italy, Food and Hospitality (MICO)

degree programme overview

The degree programme is highly innovative: it is the only one in Italy that combines the curriculum and educational objectives of two degree classes: Tourism Sciences and Gastronomy: Sciences, Cultures and Policies.

Through its interclass approach, the programme aims to provide a comprehensive cultural education on Made in Italy and technical-practical training enabling graduates to work in Made in Italy enterprises and in the food, gastronomy and hospitality sectors.

Course Information

  • because tourism, gastronomy and hospitality are driving sectors of the Italian economy and currently require greater training and qualification
  • because Italy is globally renowned for its typical products, cuisine, landscapes, and its network of hospitality structures
  • because this programme provides a cultural education aimed at promoting Made in Italy worldwide
  • because the programme has been developed in partnership with Confcommercio and Coldiretti, connecting it directly with the professional sector and companies operating in these fields, to guarantee high-quality internships and traineeships and, after graduation, enhanced career opportunities
  • because the programme includes a variety of activities (seminars, field trips, workshops) that bridge theoretical knowledge with the practical world of food and tourism
  • because, thanks to the skills acquired, MICO graduates can either enter the workforce or continue their education by enrolling in master’s programmes or postgraduate degrees to specialise in the various fields related to tourism and food, according to their interests and preferences (economics, law, communication, humanities, neuromarketing, health, etc.)
