The Week, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes, under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, this year reaches its 26th edition with the theme “The Ingenious Language: Conceiving, Designing, Creating with Italian”, aiming to highlight the strategic connection between culture and Italy's economic growth, for which Italian language and Italianness are privileged tools.
The Università per Stranieri di Perugia, through various delegations, will carry out institutional missions in different countries during the Week from October 19 to 25, as well as immediately before, depending on the requirements of the specific contexts. The activities will begin on October 9 in Turkmenistan with events coordinated by the Italian Embassy in Ashgabat at universities and centers where Italian is taught and promoted, with special attention given to the first Italian language certification center in the country.
The University will then be represented by another delegation from October 15 in Armenia, with activities coordinated by the Italian Embassy in Yerevan at Yerevan State University and “Brusov” State University, both reference centers for Italian. The program includes training sessions for teachers and students.
An additional delegation will be present in Canada with the Rector. This mission—the University's first to Canada—organized in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Ottawa, the Italian Cultural Institutes of Toronto and Montreal, and the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver, will include meetings and events at the Institutes themselves, as well as at Canadian universities where Italian is taught, to strengthen relationships with academic institutions and reaffirm the University's historic mission.
