The Student Ombudsperson is appointed by the Board of Governors, upon the recommendation of the Rector, from among individuals with proven expertise in the protection of rights.
The Ombudsperson carries out their duties ex officio or upon request from students, and serves a three-year term.
Ombudsperson’s Responsibilities
- examine student reports regarding conduct by University bodies, structures, offices, or individual staff members believed to violate regulations or the University’s Code of Ethics, ensuring the protection of the injured party from retaliation, working to resolve the issue, and forwarding conclusions to the competent body
- monitor the proper application of rules concerning teaching, student rights, and student academic careers, based on the regulatory framework in force
- carry out any actions necessary for fact-finding and, considering the functions of the University’s Bodies, Structures, and Administrative Offices as well as the specifics of each case, promote and verify prompt and effective solutions to the issues raised
- assist students in actions aimed at ensuring adequate accommodation
- ensure that their rights are upheld with regard to services provided by the city’s public and private institutions. Particular attention will be given, if prompted by the students concerned, to the terms of rental contracts signed by students and to the landlord’s fulfillment of contractual obligations
- initiate any useful action to address emergencies related to student health conditions
With Rector’s Decree No. 270 of 9 July 2026, the Student Ombudsperson of the University for Foreigners of Perugia was appointed for the 2026–2028 term.

The Student Ombudsperson receives an allowance set by the Board of Administration in compliance with current regulations which, for the 2026–2028 term, amounts to the symbolic sum of €3.00.
