Framework agreement for international academic cooperation between the University of Tirana and the University for Foreigners of Perugia aimed at awarding a double bachelor’s degree in "Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World" (LiCIMoD) from the University for Foreigners of Perugia and a bachelor’s degree in "Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World" from the University of Tirana.
Students of the University for Foreigners of Perugia who wish to enroll in the double degree program and meet the admission requirements must submit their application to the Student Office (application form, curriculum vitae, and motivation letter in Italian and French) at the time of enrollment in the second year of their course, by the end of October.
To access the third year of the double degree programme, students must:
- have acquired the credits required by the study plan for the first and second years by 30 September
- demonstrate certified knowledge of the Italian language at least at B2/CEFR level
The mobility period corresponds to the third academic year of the degree programme, which cannot be split, and may be combined with an Erasmus+ mobility period (by applying according to the annual deadlines specified in the Erasmus call for applications).
During the mobility period, students are required to attend the courses specified in the curriculum developed by the two universities and to pass all the required examinations, earning a total of 60 ECTS, including the mandatory internship and the thesis defence.
Students participating in the double degree programme
- will be enrolled at both institutions during the current academic year and will pay tuition fees only at their home university
- will be considered by both parties as full-time students, with the same benefits, rights, and responsibilities as regular students. In particular, they will be granted access to courses, tutorials, laboratory internships, seminars, and conferences
- will therefore hold student status at both institutions
- will comply with the internal regulations of the host institution and all legal requirements of the host country
- must comply with the legislation in force in the host country, particularly regarding health insurance and social security
Both universities will handle all administrative enrolment procedures and the management of student records for incoming double degree participants through their respective student offices and programme coordinators.
Students are required to regularly attend classes and take the corresponding exams in accordance with the regulations of the host university.
During the study period abroad, students must comply with the rules in force at the host institution regarding the organization of teaching activities and the procedures for conducting and assessing examinations.
The courses will be taught in Italian.
Students of the University for Foreigners of Perugia are required to take a final examination at the University of Tirana at the end of their mobility period (third year), in accordance with the regulations of the University of Tirana, in order to obtain their degree. As part of the same examination, students complete a final project, preferably agreed upon with the University for Foreigners of Perugia, for the awarding of the LiCIMoD degree.
As an exception to the thesis regulations of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, the final examination at the University of Tirana is also deemed as the thesis defense for the University for Foreigners of Perugia, provided that a faculty member from the University for Foreigners of Perugia participates in the assessment committee, including remotely.
Students are still required to submit the official thesis application via email to the Registrar's Office of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, pay the relevant fee, and send a copy of their final thesis before the thesis defense at the University of Tirana.
