By decree of the Rector (D.R. no. 94 of May 5, 2023), the Academic Senate of the University for Foreigners of Perugia has been reconstituted for the 2023-2026 three-year period. By decree of the Rector (D.R. no.135 of April 8, 2026), the extension ope legis of the Academic Senate was enacted starting from May 4, 2026, the natural expiration date of the term, and until May 23, 2026.
The Academic Senate is the scientific and academic governing body of the University. Its functions include guiding, planning, coordinating, and connecting the teaching, research, and cultural activities of the University.
Its members include the Rector, Department Directors, and various representatives (Directors of Centers, faculty, language instructors, technical-administrative staff, and students).
The General Director, acting as secretary, and the Deputy Rector participate without voting rights.

Compensation: members of the Academic Senate, except for ex officio members (Rector, Directors of Departments, Schools, and Autonomous Centers), receive a gross attendance fee of 26.00 euros pursuant to the resolution of the Board of Directors adopted on June 21, 1991. This amount is reduced by 10% as established by art. 6, paragraph 3 of Decree Law of May 31, 2010, no. 78, converted into law July 30, 2010, no. 122.
Pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 33/2013, as amended by Legislative Decree no. 97/2016, for those who hold offices free of charge, it is no longer required to publish the data referred to in article 14 of Legislative Decree no. 33/2013 (see ANAC Resolution no. 241/2017)
