Norcia (Italy), September 15th - 19th 2025
The ISV (Inclusion and Sustainability in Vulnerability) training course is centrally guided by the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs. It will integrally address themes of environmental, economic, and social sustainability, with specific reference to contexts of vulnerability, both individual and subjective, as well as environmental and contextual.

The topics covered will be explored within a systemic logic, aiming to highlight the profound interconnections among the various dimensions of sustainability: risk and emergency management and reduction (with a focus on climate change and hydrogeological risks), protection of fundamental rights, urban and territorial regeneration, combating inequalities and valuing diversity, reconstruction of social fabric and networks from a participatory perspective, environmental protection, and commitment to innovation, employment, and quality education.
The program will include lectures led by internationally recognized researchers, providing a balanced mix of theoretical insights and practical applications through a co-working lab. Beyond the technical program, the Summer School will be an opportunity for: networking with the lecturers and other students, improving general research work skills, and enjoying a nice stay in Norcia!

- Duration: 40 hours
- Participants: 20 maximum
- Cost: free registration
The course is aimed at a maximum of 20 graduates interested in the topics of Sustainability, Inclusion and Vulnerability, from a legal and sociological perspective. Among the participants, 10 are selected by partner universities (as specified in the call for admission), while other candidates can apply by following the instructions on this page.
Candidates must also demonstrate a scientific interest in the topics covered by the course through a motivation letter to be attached to the application.
Necessary requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of the English language at least B1 level according to the official CEFR guidelines
Additional Educational Qualifications (not necessary), in order of importance:
- PhD
- Enrollment in a PhD Course
- Master’s Degree
The following priority criteria, in order of importance, will be considered for admission:
- residence in the area of central Italy affected by the 2016 earthquake, as identified in the Ordinance of the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Government no. 101 of April 30, 2020 and indicated in art. 7 of the Call for applications
- chronological order of applications

Participants will benefit free of:

- Participants are expected to arrive in Perugia on Sunday, September 14th.
A transfer bus will take them from Fiumicino Airport to Norcia, with the return trip scheduled for Saturday, September 19th.
