Entrance exams for degree courses

Academic Year 2025-2026

Students who intend to enroll in a bachelor's or master's degree program at the University for Foreigners of Perugia are required to take an initial non-selective orientation interview to assess their personal preparation.

THE TOLC@HOME

Students who intend to enroll in a three-year degree course (ComIP, LICIMoD, SoCI, MICO) can replace the entrance interview with a written test to be taken at home, the TOLC@CASA administered by the CISIA Consortium, of which the University is a partner.

Registrations for TOLC@CASA are numerically limited and close one week before the test date.

If registrations are already closed, or if the student cannot attend on the scheduled dates, they can still register for the test at any university participating in the CISIA Consortium, by checking the available dates and locations. At the time of enrollment, the University for Foreigners of Perugia will acquire the results of any TOLC taken at any other university in the Consortium, either on site (TOLC@UNI) or in the @CASA mode, without the need for further checks.

To take the TOLC@CASA, the student must first choose the type of test required by the degree course they intend to enroll in:

  • the TOLC for access to Humanities courses (TOLC-SU) is valid for all courses (ComIP, LICIMoD, MICO, SOCI)
  • the TOLC for access to Political and Social Sciences courses (TOLC-SPS) is valid only for SOCI

On the CISIA website page dedicated to each type of test, the student will find the necessary information to:

  • register in the reserved test area and report any special needs related to disabilities or specific learning disabilities (DSA)
  • book the test date from the reserved test area
  • consult the guide to prepare the tools and environment required for taking the TOLC@CASA
  • obtain information on the structure of the test and the evaluation criteria
  • consult the FAQs related to TOLC@CASA and contact the CISIA help desk
  • access the test from the reserved area

Test Results

The score obtained in the test will be visible on the screen immediately after the end of the exam. Validation of the results will be available in the reserved CISIA test area 48 hours after the exam (from 7:00 pm), in the "Test Results" section.

The minimum passing scores for the test are as follows:

  • for the TOLC-SU: 18/30 in the first section (“Text comprehension and knowledge of the Italian language”) and a total of 10/20 in the second and third sections (“Knowledge and skills acquired in previous studies” and “Logical reasoning”)
  • for the TOLC-SPS: 6/10 in the first section ("Text comprehension") and a total of 20/30 in the second and third sections ("Acquired knowledge" and "Mathematical reasoning and language")

If the student obtains scores lower than those required, they may still enroll and will receive information by email about the remedial measures provided by the degree program for which they enroll.
