Il programma di studio internazionale, organizzato in collaborazione con la Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei, si propone di realizzare un approfondimento delle dinamiche legate alla transizione energetica in Africa e del ruolo che la diplomazia internazionale può svolgere per promuovere una transizione rispondente agli obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile definiti in ambito ONU.

Lo study programme, che si svolge interamente online e in lingua inglese, è destinato a 80 giovani partecipanti provenienti da tutto il mondo che avranno la possibilità di frequentare il corso gratuitamente.

Il percorso formativo è costituito da due moduli, per totale di 42 ore:

  • il primo modulo, che si svolge nel periodo 10 – 25 settembre 2020, prevede lezioni, lectures e seminari su procedure, tecniche di negoziazione e speaking, stesura di una risoluzione
  • il secondo modulo, previsto nei giorni 28, 29 e 30 settembre 2020, è incentrato su un’attività di simulazione di una conference of parties (COP) nella quale i partecipanti interpreteranno il ruolo dei rappresentanti di Stati/Istituzioni/ONG impegnati a negoziare un accordo per individuare una strategia condivisa ed efficace sul tema della transizione energetica in Africa

Il secondo modulo prevede lo svolgimento di una simulazione di un negoziato diplomatico, coordinato dal Prof. Federico Niglia, nel quale i partecipanti mettono in pratica le conoscenze e le competenze acquisite.

La simulazione fornisce anche un'utile opportunità per familiarizzare con lo strumento della virtual diplomacy, una dimensione in crescente espansione all'interno della quale i profili professionali operanti nel campo delle relazioni internazionale e della cooperazione allo sviluppo devono saper validamente operare.
