This degree program offers students the opportunity to explore, understand, and critically engage with the broad theme of sustainability, addressing its environmental, social, economic, and cultural dimensions. The program is grounded in an innovative educational model that integrates theoretical study with hands-on learning, research, project work, and international experience.
Students acquire knowledge, skills, and methodologies rooted in the social sciences, complemented by in-depth study of technical and scientific disciplines. This transdisciplinary approach is key to understanding and addressing the complex challenges of contemporary society at the global, national, and local levels.
The curriculum is designed to build a strong foundation in core subjects (such as history, economics, philosophy, and law), followed by progressively more specialized and sector-specific skills. Courses and workshops cover a wide range of topics related to sustainability and international cooperation, and are offered in both Italian and English.
The international character of the program is enhanced by a robust network of collaborations with institutions, public and private organizations, and universities engaged in sustainability and cooperation (including UNESCO, the Sant’Egidio Community, and the International Committee of the Red Cross). Students are encouraged to take part in international mobility programs for study, research, and internships, enriching their academic and professional development.
Key topics explored include peacebuilding, circular economy, globalization, digital transition, environmental issues, climate change, and intercultural and social dynamics.
Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded a Bachelor's Degree and the academic title of Dottore (Art. 4 of the University Teaching Regulations).
