ECTS (European Credit Transfer System)
The ECTS programme (European Credit Transfer System) developed by the European Commission aims to create a common procedure not only in attributing academic credits but also in the system of evaluation to overcome the complexity of the different grade systems adopted by the various countries. The ECTS grades offer complementary information with respect to the grades attributed to the student by the original institution, i.e. they are translated into the local system. At the University for Foreigners of Perugia the correspondence between ECTS grades and Italian University grades (out of 30) is detailed in the ECTS chart.
