Nota biografica:

Luciana Forti conducts research in the areas of second language acquisition, corpus linguistics and lexicology. More specifically, her current research interests concern mainly L2 phraseological complexity development (complexity theory, definition and measurement of lexical and phraseological complexity, integration of corpus and eye-tracking data in phraseological complexity measurement) and uses of corpora for second language learning purposes (effectiveness of Data-driven learning, corpora and language testing, corpora for language learners).

With the supervision of prof. Stefania Spina, she contributed to the development of the software MALT-IT (a system that is able to automatically measure the difficulty of a written text, while assigning it to a specific CEFR level), of the corpus CIP (an L1 Italian spoken corpus), and of the corpus CELI (an L2 Italian corpus of written texts produced in language certification contexts). She obtained her PhD in Scienze letterarie, librarie, linguistiche e della comunicazione internazionale (curriculum: Scienze linguistiche e filologiche), at the University for Foreigners of Perugia, defending a thesis entitled Developing phraseological competence in Italian L2: a study on the effects of Data-driven learning.

She is the author of the monograph Corpus Use in Italian Language Pedagogy. Exploring the Effects of Data-Driven Learning, published by Routledge.
