The University for Foreigners of Perugia is home to research operating in the context of scientific areas within it, in particular: Italian Language, Literary Criticism and Comparative Literature, Italian Linguistics, Philology and Linguistics, Political Science and International Law .
The scientific activity is carried out in research projects funded by the University and participation in national and international research programmess. The University is active in terms of knowledge transfer through humanities projects aimed at exploiting the results of research in the humanities and social sciences.
The University for Foreigners of Perugia is a member of Netval "Network for the promotion of Research", an association that brings together Italian universities, the National Research Council and the ENEA with the aim of supporting the exploitation of research results through training activities and networking with institutions, the world of business and finance
