Contenuto del corso
This course examines the emergence and growth of the European Union from the aftermath of World War II Political risk analysis is a forward-looking practice used by corporate and governmental actors to assess socio-political events that fall outside conventional business risks. This course examines the methodological and epistemological challenges of addressing uncertainty and risk in a rapidly changing globalized environment. It explores key issues in international political and economic relations, focusing on techniques such as statistical extrapolation, game theory, Delphi methods, prediction markets, expert judgment, and the impact of the digital revolution, including big data and the internet of things. Students will apply critical reasoning to case studies of disruptive events like financial crises, the Arab Uprisings, Brexit, and the Covid-19 pandemic, gaining conceptual and practical skills for careers in political risk consulting across public and private sectors.
